The next instalment in the Resident Evil movie franchise will feature appearances by Barry Burton and Leon S. Kennedy, reports Bloody Disgusting.
For those unaware, Burton was a former member of the S.T.A.R.S Alpha Team alongside Chris Redfield in the original Resident Evil, and popped up in RE5 as a Mercenaries character.
Kennedy, meanwhile, appeared in Resident Evil 2 as a then-rookie cop for the Raccoon City Police Department, before later showing up in Resident Evil 4 as a U.S. government agent.
The report goes on to say that the film, due out in September 2012, will be directed by Paul W.S. Anderson and also sees the return of Milla Jovovich as Alice, though Jill Valentine’s role will apparently be recast. The heroine was previously portrayed by Sienna Guillory in Resident Evil: Apocalypse.
Resident Evil Retribution will be filmed on location in Tokyo, as well as Toronto, Canada starting this October.
