Batman: Arkham City has shipped 4.6 million

Superhero sequel Batman: Arkham City has shipped 4.6 million copies globally since its launch last week, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Entertainment have announced.

The critically acclaimed actioner sold more than double the amount of copies as its 2009 predecessor during its first week on sale, and currently ranks as the highest-scoring PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 title of 2011 on Metacritic.com. 

Martin Tremblay, President of Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, commented, “Batman: Arkham City is one of the best action adventure games, proven by the tremendous reviews, and it further establishes the Batman brand as a marquee franchise for our growing business.”
