Rocksteady has said that Batman: Arkham Knight’s game world is roughly five times larger than Arkham City’s sprawling open-world.
Quizzed by GamingBolt regarding the size of The Dark Knight’s latest adventure in comparison to previous titles, Gaz Deaves, Social Marketing Manager for Rocksteady, commented:
“One of the things we wanted to do with the environment for Batman: Arkham Knight is create this living, breathing, complete version of Gotham City. Our approach to game design has always been about taking the time to put a lot of care and detail into our locations because it makes the experience so much more immersive.
When you play Batman: Arkham Knight, you’ll be exploring an environment around five times the size of Arkham City, but really the important thing for us isn’t so much the scale of the city: it’s the detail and care that goes into every inch of it. That’s what makes it feel like Gotham.”
Batman: Arkham Knight is due out on PS4 and Xbox One on June 23, 2015. The game will receive extra content first on PS4, with a Limited Edition bundle also in the pipeline. Arkham Knight will reportedly run at a native 1080p on PS4.
