Batman: The Telltale Series has a multiplayer component

Batman: The Telltale Series will introduce a multiplayer aspect that allows other players to participate in your decision-making.

Telltale revealed the feature, known as Crowd Play, during the San Diego Comic-Con over the weekend (via GameSpot).

Now, from two to 2,000-plus people can help the player make decisions," commented Job Stauffer, Telltale’s communications boss. "We are now turning all of Telltale’s games into a live interactive multiplayer experience.”

When turned on, Crowd Play provides you with a URL that gamers can visit to participate in the on-screen antics. Here, they can give various actions a thumbs up or down vote, as well as voting for their dialogue option of choice.

Viewers can then see how the vote unfolds, and the game can even be set up so that the most popular choice is then automatically picked or the player ultimately makes the final decision.

Batman: The Telltale Series is scheduled to debut for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, PC, Xbox One, and Xbox 360 on August 2. The developer is hoping to wrap up the series by the end of year, although only if it’s able to maintain the level of quality expected of its games.

In related news, the planned Batman: Return to Arkham collection for PS4 and Xbox One has been delayed until November at the earliest. The pack features high-definition remasters of Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City, alongside all previously released downloadable content.

Return to Arkham was originally due to arrive in stores this month, and had been rumored for quite some time prior to an official reveal.
