Battlefield 2042 Will Feature Up To 64 AI Bots To Help Fill The Lobbies If There’s Not Enough Human Players

Battlefield 2042 will feature a whopping 128-player battles – at least on PS5, PC and Xbox Series X/S – but if there’s not enough fleshy humans to go around, then developer DICE will plug the gaps with up to 64 AI soldiers.

We previously revealed that Battlefield 2042 would allow players to go up against AI bots if they preferred a solo experience, but what wasn’t known is how many of them would help fill in the servers if there wasn’t enough to pack in 128 human players in matches.

Battlefield 2042 will employ this tactic for its Conquest and Breakthrough modes, and to be honest, it’s not all that surprising – better to have more boots on the ground even if they’re AI, after all.

As mentioned, the PS4 and Xbox One versions of Battlefield 2042 will only support 64 players for matches, and will featured reduced map sizes.
