According to Forbes, a Target rep said, "This is not a real product — we’re sorry for any confusion." Adding fuel to the this-is-fake-news fire, is that a Rockstar: Game of Thrones listing has also popped up on Target’s site, which means someone might just a wee bit too much time in their hands.
If ever Bethesda release a statement, we’ll be sure to let people know. In the meantime, go dream of Skyrim Game of Thrones dreams.

While gamers have already seen a game based on George R.R. Martin’s Game of Thrones with Cyanide’s lackluster 2012 showing, could we be getting another game based on the hugely popular TV show based on Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire novels? Retailer Target seems to think so, as the company’s website has updated with a listing for "Bethesda: Game of Thrones."
You read that right. The company behind some of the most notable open world action-RPGs of the last decade like The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Fallout 4, and more, could be making a game based on Game of Thrones! Obviously, given there’s not much else to go on aside from the page listing, this could be an error on Target’s part or something else, so don’t blame us if this doesn’t come to fruition.
However, if this is legit, then what could it be? Maybe a full-fleged AAA action-RPG? Or an online MMORPG like The Elder Scrolls Online? What if it’s a (shudder) mobile game? Let your mind take in all the possibilities. Speaking of Game of Thrones, tonight is the big season finale for Season 6, could a video game tie-in be part of that grand finale? That would be something if so, no? We have a few hours to wait, so we should know soon enough.
