Ubisoft has revealed that it’s planning on releasing a HD revamp of the PS2 classic Beyond Good & Evil for PlayStation Network and Xbox LIVE Arcade in 2011.
As expected, the update will feature a 1080p visual overhaul, with sharper character models and textures touted in addition to a remastered soundtrack.
Trophy and Achievement support has also been confirmed for PS3 and 360, respectively, alongside online leaderboards.
Hopefully the re-release will provide something of a stop gap while fans sit waiting for the long-delayed sequel, which despite having dropped off the radar since its announcement in 2008 is apparently still very much in the works – or so Ubisoft has assured us, anyhow.
More as it breaks.
