BioShock dev Irrational Games has been rebranded

Irrational Games is perhaps best known for bringing BioShock and BioShock Infinite to life (BioShock 2 was developed directly by 2K), and now many former members of the Irrational family have created a brand new development studio called Ghost Story Games.

According to their newly launched website, Ghost Story’s mission is “to create immersive, story-driven games for people who love games that ask something of them.” They want the gameplay of their upcoming titles to be as challenging and rewarding as the stories, appealing to fans of the BioShock games. Unfortunately they don’t have anything to announce about their next title just yet, but you can sign up to their newsletter from their home page to be the first to know when they reveal something new.

Current members of the Ghost Story team include the Ken Levine (President and Creative Director), Shawn Robertson (Art Director), Jennie Morse (Associate Producer I), Jerry Berlongieri (Audio Director), and Emma Clarkson (Associate Producer II), as well as nearly two dozen others. You can check out the entire team here.

This was partly a rebrand and partly a brand new endeavor, so while members of the team may have changed, things like the social media pages are just shifting from Irrational to Ghost Story. This means if you followed Irrational Games on Twitter previously, you are already following Ghost Story Games.

What do you think of this restructuring and change of focus? Are you looking forward to seeing Ghost Story Games’ first title? Sound off in the comments below.
