BioShock: Infinite ‘Burial at Sea,’ ‘Clash in the Clouds’ DLC unveiled

Irrational Games has announced the first post-launch expansion for BioShock: Infinite, titled Clash in the Clouds.

Available this week for PlayStation 3, PC and Xbox 360, this first chunk of DLC for the celebrated FPS is a wave-based affair, pitting gamers against legions of foes from the sky city of Columbia.

Armed with firearms, Vigors and Tears, players will battle it out in four new areas inspired by BioShock: Infinite’s campaign. Sharpen your skills enough to conquer the 60 Blue Ribbon challenges, and you’ll also be able to unlock exclusive content in the Columbian Archeological Society, such as new Voxophones, Kinetoscopes, concept art and more.

Clash in the Clouds is available for $4.99/£3.69 via PlayStation Network starting today, and is also included as part of BioShock: Infinite’s Season Pass.

In addition, Irrational Games also revealed plans to release the expansion Burial at Sea; a new two-part campaign containing a fresh quest for Booker DeWitt and Elizabeth, set in BioShock’s underwater metropolis of Rapture. However, this adventure will take place prior to Rapture’s downfall, the aftermath of which is depicted in the original game.

Burial at Sea: Episode 1 will be released later this year for $15.00, with the second part also retailing at the same price.

Ken Levine, Irrational Games’ creative director, commented: “We are really excited to offer our fans the content they have been asking for.

With Clash in the Clouds, people get a pure action experience that takes BioShock: Infinite combat to its highest challenge and intensity level. With Burial at Sea episodes, we are building a Rapture-based narrative experience that is almost entirely built from scratch.”

BioShock: Infinite was released on March 26. Stay tuned to PSU.com for more information on future DLC as we get it.
