BioShock: Infinite won’t include BioShock 1 outside of U.S.

2K Games has revealed that the PlayStation 3 version of BioShock: Infinite won’t feature the original BioShock outside of North American territories.

The publisher previously confirmed that the 2007 first-person shooter would be included on the Blu-ray disc for Infinite. However, speaking to VideoGamer.com, 2K confirmed this is a U.S.-only promotion.

“I can confirm that the PS3 version of BioShock Infinite in North America contains a copy of the original BioShock," a company spokesperson said. "This is not the case in UK as it’s a local promotion in North America."

BioShock: Infinite takes place in the airborne city of Columbia, and sees former agent Booker DeWitt pairing up with a young woman named Elizabeth as they attempt to escape the city amidst a civil war.

Developed by Irrational Games and once again headed by series overlord Ken Levine, Infinite also takes advantage of PlayStation Move, though it remains unknown exactly how this feature will be implmeneted.  A PlayStation Vita entry in the franchise is also in development at the studio.

BioShock: Infinite is due out on February 26, 2013 for PS3, PC and Xbox 360.
