BioWare confirms interactive comic for Mass Effect 2, clarifies PS3 exclusive content comment

An interactive comic that covers choices made in the original Mass Effect will appear on the Mass Effect 2 PS3 disc, producer Jesse Houston confirmed on the official BioWare forum. Dark Horse Comics and BioWare Edmonton worked together to create the comic, which Houston describes as a "stunning visual experience that not only tells the core story elements of Mass Effect 1, but also is fully interactive allowing you to be faced with some of the major choices which will have consequences your Mass Effect universe."

What won’t appear on the disc, contrary to rumors floating around the web, is a six-hour PS3 exclusive mission. Houston says that the confusion arose from translation errors in an interview with BioWare’s Casey Hudson. In his post, Houston clarifies that the six hours of content refers to "what’s included exclusively ‘On Disc’ (Kasumi, Shadow Broker, Overlord), The Interactive Back Story and the Cerberus Network Access," most of which arrived as downloadable content for the Xbox 360 and PC versions of the game.

Finally, BioWare has revealed the final PS3 box art for the game, which touts the aforementioned bonus content included on the PS3 disc. We’ve posted the box art below.
