Developer Game Science released six minutes of in-engine footage for the upcoming Black Myth: Zhong Kui as part of a special for Chinese New Year.
While the content is non-canon, as it’s been made especially to celebrate Chinese New Year: Year of the Horse, it’s still worth watching if you’re looking forward to the game. Check it out below.
Black Myth: Zhong Kui is the follow-up to Black Myth: Wu Kong and was announced last summer. Follow-up is used pretty loosely, as it’s not a full sequel, but rather a brand new adventure. Here’s all we know from the official blurb:
Judging by the name, Black Myth: Zhong Kui shares the same foundation of ancient Chinese myth and folklore. In terms of genre, it will remain a standard single-player ARPG, following the same business model as before. However you won’t be playing a monkey role this time. That said, we’re still exploring and experimenting with the concrete differences between Wukong and Zhong Kui. So take it easy-let us impress ourselves first before we serve it to you.
The game is still in the early stages of development so a release date has yet to be announced. However, Game Science did confirm it is intending to release Black Myth: Zhong Kui for “mainstream console platforms” and PC.
