Legendary British developer Blitz has heaped praise on Polyphony Digital’s upcoming racer Gran Turismo 5, labelling the hotly anticipated PS3-exclusive the gaming equivalent of movie blockbuster Avatar.
Having seen the title up and running in full 3D glory, studio head Andrew Oliver declared the racer “a major step forward” for the videogames industry, saying the game looked "stunning."
"I’ve seen Gran Turismo 5 running in 3D and it’s stunning," Oliver told the chaps at Esquire UK. "It is a major step forward. It’s gaming’s Avatar."
Of course, 3D gaming is something that Oliver and the folks at Blitz are only too well acquainted with – after all, the studio churned out the first ever Stereoscopic 3D console title in the form of Invincible Tiger: The Legend of Han Tao.
Gran Turismo 5 was previously scheduled for release in early November before being pushed back to an undisclosed date this holiday season. Keep your eyes peeled for a firm release date as soon as it breaks.
