Blizzard Entertainment has announced that its story missions for Overwatch 2 will retail for $15, with the first three missions being released as part of the game’s latest season.
However, to gain access to said content, you’ll have to fork out $15 for the Overwatch 2: Invasion Bundle. In doing so, you’ll get your hands on the story missions, as well as 1,000 Overwatch Coins, a new Sojourn Legendary Skin, and permanent access to the character as a playable hero.
The news follows Blizzard’s decision to scrap the Overwatch 2 Hero Mode, which would have allowed players to take part in repayable PvE battles. Here, you’d defend cities against robot invaders while levelling up your heroes and obtaining new customisation items.
Fans are understandably not happy with this latest development of paying $15 for story missions, with Twitter user Minty writing:
The whole reason for Overwatch 2 was PvE. Then after MONTHS, they scrapped it all. Now they’re trying to sell it to you for $15 as seasonal content. Shit is staying uninstalled, good lord.
Overwatch 2 launched in October 2022 for PS5, PS4, PC, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One.
