Gearbox chief Randy Pitchford has confirmed on Twitter that Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel has officially gone gold.
The upcoming action-RPG is due out on PlayStation 3, PC, and Xbox 360 on October 14 in the U.S. and in Europe on October 17.
The Pre-Sequel is set between the events of the original loot-driven adventure and its sequel, and chronicles the uprising of Handsome Jack—the chief antagonist of Borderlands 2—on Pandora’s Moon.
Unlike its predecessors, The Pre-Sequel was developed primarily at 2K Australia, with Gearbox acting as supervisor. The game will be supported by a Season Pass featuring a host of new content, including fresh weapons and missions.
