If you’re looking forward to the Uncharted movie adaptation, then this news should help make the wait a wee bit more bearable. According to That Hashtag Show (via Yahoo UK), "Breaking Bad" star Bryan Cranston is rumored to be up for a "major role" in the Hollywood adaptation of Naughty Dog’s best-selling game franchise.
While there’s no mention or hint as to which character Cranston is rumored to play, given his age and look, and the "major role" emphasis, Cranston will most likely play as Victor "Sully" Sullivan, Drake’s father-figure and the man that taught him the tools of the trade. The Uncharted movie is also said to be a new origins story, with Spider-Man: Homecoming star Tom Holland set to play the younger version of Nathan Drake. It currently has no release date, but there is a director attached, Night of the Museum’s Shawn Levy.
Bear in mind that the Bryan Cranston rumor is just that, a rumor, so there’s a chance that it can be all bunk, but if it’s true, then the movie’s star power just got kicked up a notch.
As for the latest regarding Uncharted the game, you can read up on Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End reportedly troubled development, and of course, there’s the Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, which is the newest entry in the series.
