Activision has released the PS5 & PS5 versions of Call of Duty Black Ops and Call of Duty Black Ops II, and you can pick them up at $19.99 each thanks to launch discount price. From August 6, the games will retail for $39.99 each.
These newly-released versions of the classic first-person shooters will feature Campaign, Multiplayer, and Zombies. Both versions of the game feature Trophies that are identical to the original PS3 editions of the game, although as previously reported it’s good to know that we at least get a native PS5 version without simply relying on PS4 backwards compatibility.
Call of Duty Black Ops was originally released for PS3, PC, DS, Wii, and Xbox 360 back in November 2010, and takes place during the midst of the Cold War during the 1960s. Players follow CIA operative Alex Mason as he tries to recall specific memories to reveal a numbers station set to instruct Soviet sleeper agents to install chemical weapons across the United States.
The sequel Call of Duty Black Ops II arrived in PS3, PC, Wii U, and Xbox 360 in November 2012 — Call of Duty Modern Warfare III plugged the gap between both Blacks Ops titles — and takes place during the 1980s. This time around players switch between Alex Mason and Frank Woods, as well as following Mason’s son, David, in the year 2025, and introduces non-linear gameplay and multiple endings.
