The PS5 and Xbox Series X versions of Call of Duty: Black Ops – Cold War will run in 4K resolution, according to an interview with the development team at VentureBeat. What’s more, the game also includes a global illumination system that makes use of real-time ray tracing effects.

Dan Bunting, studio co-head at Treyarch, commented:
We want to make sure that the framerate is responsive, and that it feels like there’s nothing on the technical side preventing you from having a good time.
Elsewhere, the article also reveals that the added advantage of the PS5 and Xbox Series X SSDs will allow for seamless transitions between cinematics and gameplay. It also claims that Call of Duty: Black Ops – Cold War will make use of the new audio capabilities in next-generation systems.
Call of Duty: Black Ops – Cold War is scheduled for release on PS4, PC and Xbox One on November 13, and will be available on PS5 and Xbox Series X via the Cross-Gen version of the game.
