Activision has officially confirmed Call of Duty Black Ops II after months of rumors in the shape of the game’s official website.
A formal reveal was pencilled in for later today via the NBA playoffs, though it seems – for one reason or another – the cat has been let out of the bag earlier than expected.
The shooter takes on a near-futuristic setting as previously speculated, focusing on a 21st century Cold War "where technology and weapons have converged to create a new generation of warfare." The game is scheduled to ship on November 13, 2012 for PlayStation 3, PC and Xbox 360.
Expect more details to drop later today during the planned announcement on U.S. TV.
