Today’s Call of Duty: Ghosts multiplayer reveal also brought news that your statistics, unlocks, and profile will transfer from PS3 to PlayStation 4, should you choose to play both versions.
The news relieves concerns for Call of Duty fans unsure of which platform they should buy Infinity Ward’s latest for, and even those unsure if a next-gen upgrade is worthwhile. Profile transfer is just one more (small) reason that it could be.
IGN grabbed a quote from the reveal in which Activision clarifies, "when players are ready to move to next gen systems Xbox One or PlayStation 4, all their Call of Duty: Ghosts stats, in-game achievements, unlocks, and more will seamlessly go with them and be ready and waiting."
However, you WON’T be able to move your profile across manufacturers. So if you start playing Ghosts on PS3, then decide to buy an Xbox One and shift to the new platform, you’re out of luck. But really, why would you do that, anyway?
