Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is current-gen only, so don’t expect a PS3 version

The developer behind the upcoming Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare has announced that the military shooter won’t be released for PlayStation 3.

Infinity Ward confirmed the news on Twitter in a response to a fan enquiring about a possible release on Sony’s last-generation console.

The studio didn’t comment on the Xbox 360, although given that Microsoft recently discontinued the 11-year-old platform, it’s unlikely Infinite Warfare would see a release on the console.

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is scheduled for release on PS4, PC and Xbox One on November 4, 2016. The game will introduce space combat in the first time in the series, with special editions of the shooter coming with a high-definition revamp of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.

In a first for Infinity Ward, Infinite Warfare will also include a dedicated Zombies mode taking place in an alternate universe to the main campaign.
