Activision has officially announced Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4 as the next instalment in the multi-million selling first-person shooter franchise, which will be launching on October 23, 2026 for PS5, PC, Nintendo Switch 2, and Xbox Series X/S.
The new Modern Warfare will include campaign, multiplayer, and DMZ, which is an extraction mode. The campaign itself is split into three main narratives, with the first taking place in South Korea as players take on the role of a military squad based in Seoul in the midst of a missile attack from North Korean and its subsequent invasion of the region. Meanwhile, Captain Price returns in the second segment as he continues his journey following General Shepherd’s killing in the previous game, while the third act sees you in the shoes of a member of a North Korean dictatorship.
