Activision has announced that the Call of Duty franchise has sold over 188 million units globally since its inception in 2003.
To be precise, the FPS has moved 188,900,000 units as of July 2014.
The figure makes it the best-selling first-person shooter series of all time, and does not take into account sales for the latest entry, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare.
In addition, the Guinness World Records Gamers Edition has named it ‘Best Videogame Franchise,’ as voted for by over 5,000 gamers across 140 countries.
Advanced Warfare debuted in first place on the U.K. All Format Chart following its release in early November, becoming the fifth best-selling CoD title to date.
