Activision has provided details on the upcoming Call of Duty WW2 Winter Siege event, which provides a host of new content for the first-person shooter throughout the holiday season.
Kicking off on Friday, December 8, the Winter Siege offers up a boatload of free content to tuck into. The event will run until January 2, 2018, so there’s plenty of time to get stuck in on the action.
Call of Duty WW2 Winter Siege drops fresh content
For starters, the Carentan map will receive a frosty makeover to give it a suitably winter feel. The classic Gun Game party mode will also return to the fold.
“This beloved mode makes its Call of Duty: WWII debut during the second week of the event as part of a non-stop schedule of special 2XP playlists, delivering a perfect way for players to take a variety of weapons out for a spin and keep their opponents guessing,” says Activision's press blurb.
In addition, players can take advantage of Double XP Playlists, a Winter Siege Supply Drop, plus a new winter-themed Headquarters.
“The Winter Siege is all about celebrating with the Call of Duty® community,” commented Sledgehammer Games' Senior Product Developer, Aaron Halon.
“There's a ton of content for everyone to play during this time from a reimagined Winter Carentan multiplayer map that's now packed with snow to Gun Game to Supply Drops full of winter-themed gear and content all available throughout the Winter Siege.”
Call of Duty WW2 is now available for PS4, PC, and Xbox One platforms. The game's first batch of DLC, titled The Resistance, will be made available to PS4 owners 30 days before any other format.
