The trailer for Call of Duty WW2’s dedicated Zombies mode, known as Army of the Dead, has been officially revealed at the San Diego Comic Con.

As you can see, Sledgehammer Games’ take on the much-loved Zombie spinoff game is decidedly grittier than anything we’ve seen before, with the undead foes in particular looking far deadlier than what we’ve become accustomed to.

Zombies is known for tipping into the Hollywood talent pool for its various cast of characters, and it seems this trend looks set to continue with Army of the Dead; Activision has already signed up David Tennant (Doctor Who) and Katheryn Winnick (The Dark Tower) for major roles in the spinoff game.

Call of Duty WW2 is scheduled for release on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One on November 3, 2017. The game is the first entry in the multi-million selling first-person shooter franchise to take place in World War II since 2008’s Call of Duty: World at War, and focuses on the latter stages of the conflict, as allied forces steadily push back the Nazis throughout war-torn Europe.

Launched back in 2003 as a PC-exclusive, Call of Duty quickly made the transition to home consoles and established itself as one of the most successful first-person shooters of all time. The series has sold over 250 million copies as of 2016, and generated more than $15 billion in revenue.
