Capcom mixes Real History events in Dark Void

Capcom has released a fresh concept image for its upcoming action title Dark Void, due out on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC later this year.

The concept art features an image of the USS Cyclops, a real life ship that vanished without a trace in the Bermuda Triangle in 1918. To view the image, click here.

“Dark Void, as you already know, takes place in, well, the Void. Getting to the Void is something that usually doesn’t happen on purpose… Since you well know there’s a ton of mysterious disappearances near the Bermuda Triangle, and lots of conspiracies and myths surrounding that area, you may expect to find pieces of real history that have traveled through the Bermuda Triangle into the Void. “ said a Capcom representative.

“There’s plenty of cool things that tie into real history in Dark Void like the USS Cyclops. Like one we’ve already mentioned, Nikola Tesla. Of course, he plays a much larger role, as he’s responsible for creating Will’s jetpack that you’ll be using in the game. There’s a few other things from history that play role in Dark Void, but I’ll let you speculate what those are…”

More details on Dark Void are expected to come during this weeks GDC in San Francisco.
