Okami will be celebrating its 20th anniversary this year and Capcom is preparing for the milestone by opening up a teaser website to mark the occasion, which will be fully opening its doors in April.
The site currently features the series’ new 20th anniversary logo alongside Masumi Narita-produced calligraphy, as well as a message for fans:
Since its release on April 20, 2006, Okami has been cherished by many for its unique setting, heartwarming story, and thrilling adventure. Similar to how the bonds forged by Amaterasu and Issun during their journey paved the way for the future, it is thanks to the deep affection and bonds shared by all of you that Okami has reached this milestone. We sincerely thank you for connecting with Okami over the past 20 years.
May this year be one where we continue to nurture new bonds together with you all, stepping forward into an even brighter future. We will be rolling out various commemorative projects, including 20th-anniversary goods and events.
Please join us in celebrating this 20th anniversary.
Clovers announced a full-blown sequel to Okami during December 2024’s The Game Awards, although we haven’t really seen anything on the project since. Given the series 20th anniversary is coming up, we may get more details in April, although nothing has been confirmed yet.
