Capcom, one of the largest publishers of PlayStation Network titles, is planning to launch a branded PlayStation Network Store.
"Out of all of the third-party companies making use of the digital space, [Sony] recognizes Capcom is one of the best partners for content," said John Diamonon, product manager of Capcom’s PSN titles.
This is a major step forward in the establishment of Capcom as a "digital brand."
"With digital, that object can be highlighted in about 20 different ways," said Diamonon. "I think Sony is first to recognize that. The more opportunities that someone has a chance to see or be exposed to our content … the more likely it is that someone will give a Capcom title a shot."
Expect other major PSN publishers to follow suit. The Capcom PlayStation Store will be available this November alongside the launch of Age of Booty.
