Capcom has announced that the company plans shift its software development focus for Sony consoles over to the PlayStation 3 starting next year.
Up until now, the firm has pooled much of its resources into developing titles for the PlayStation 2; however, it now plans to adopt a much more aggressive approach with Sony’s next-generation console starting from 2008.
Additionally, Capcom President Haruhiro Tsujimoto also stated that the company plans to release games on a multiformat basis in an effort to maximise profits.
The firm is currently developing a number of sequels to popular franchises for the PS3, including Devil May Cry 4 and Resident Evil 5, both of which are scheduled for release in 2008 and 2009, respectively.
Stay tuned for more developments from Capcom as they break.
