Capcom’s revealed that Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 originally started out life as downloadable content.
The re-release, which adds 12 new fighters to the roster as well as various gameplay tweaks, is due out this November – however, it wasn’t initially conceived as a retail-only product.
That’s according to Capcom staffers, who told Famitsu that the game jumped from DLC to a budget retail release due to “the March Tohoku disaster, and staff health issues.”
Elsewhere, the team also confirmed that Capcom plans on offering DLC for Ultimate MvC 3 in the shape of extra outfits and new game modes, and that the project is currently 80 percent complete.
