Capcom unveils JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure HD

Niche beat-‘em-up JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure is getting the HD treatment later this summer, Capcom has confirmed.

The game will be released on PlayStation Network and Xbox LIVE Arcade on August 22.

Originally released in arcades back in 1999, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure later made the jump to PSone and Dreamcast in 2000. The re-release will set you back $19.99/£15.99 on PSN and 1600 Microsoft Points via XBLA.

Aside from spruced up visuals, this re-release will incorporate a robust online component, allowing gamers to pick opponents based on skill, location and connection speed. Global leaderboards are also included, as is an eight-player multiplayer lobby system.

Lastly, those of you who are feeling extra nostalgic can opt to play the game in its original incarnation via the Arcade SD Mode.

Capcom confirmed last week that an all-new title, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure All-Star Battle, is currently in development at CyberConnect 2 exclusively for PlayStation 3.
