Catch up on games and expand your horizons

Every gamer knows what summer means for gaming. It’s the time when new video game releases come to a halt and you have plenty of time to catch up on games that came out prior. But catching up may require more than a few coins, so how can you game without breaking the bank? One way is to shop at Eneba where game keys, console subscriptions, DLCs, and gift cards cost a lot less. Another is PlayStation Plus membership.

Hundreds of games for a monthly fee with PlayStation Plus

Sony is rolling out a 3-tier PlayStation Plus membership in June to combine the best of PS Plus and PS Now into one package. While PlayStation Plus Essential offers the basic and the same PS Plus benefits, PlayStation Plus Extra will offer some of the greatest exclusives released on PS4 and PS5, and PS Plus Premium will offer classic PS1, PS2, and PS3 games to play through streaming reaching up to over 700 games. Sony has already revealed titles, that will open the PlayStation Plus membership lineup:

  • Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut PS4|PS5;
  • Death Stranding & Death Stranding Director’s Cut PS4|PS5;
  • God of War PS4;
  • Marvel’s Spider-Man PS4;
  • Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales PS4|PS5;
  • Returnal PS4;
  • Demon’s Souls PS5;

Just to name a few.

Expand your horizons with Steam gift cards

While summer is the low season for new PlayStation games, there’s always an option to explore other platforms. Not all games are released for the PlayStation consoles so expanding the horizons to PC might be one way to reach new games. To explore the PC scene, try out early access games and find excellent little gems without breaking the bank is possible with Steam gift cards. Just look at what games you can play, or try in early access on Steam:

  • Valheim;
  • Baldur’s Gate III;
  • Everspace 2;
  • Metal Dogs;
  • Dune: Spice Wars.

Don’t miss out on Xbox games

Like with any other platform, Xbox is also home to many exclusive titles that are not available on PlayStation. Ok, we get it, the console war is a thing and many loyal PlayStation fans don’t want to jump ship and play on the competitor’s platform, but what they are actually doing is missing out on many exquisite games. Take Halo for example. Halo: Combat Evolved reshaped the whole FPS genre and drew the blueprint for the upcoming first-person shooters. Even without being remastered (though it was), Halo: CE still holds up as one of the greatest games of all time. There are more fantastic Xbox titles you might want to check out:

  • The Gears of War series;
  • Forza Horizon 5;
  • Sunset Overdrive;
  • Sea of Thieves;
  • Tunic;
  • Microsoft Flight Simulator.

Not to mention the upcoming Bethesda games like Starfield, that most likely will be PC and Xbox exclusives.

Play with friends on other platforms

We, humans, are social creatures, hence, we crave interaction, be it in real life or in video games. That’s why so many online multiplayer games have skyrocketed among the most played titles in recent years. But to play online on a console, you need either PS Plus or Xbox Live Gold. You may be using PlayStation as your primary console, but you might have friends who are gaming on Xbox. Getting them an Xbox gift card is a great way to show you care and appreciate their friendship. With cross-play expanding into more and more games, it’s time to forget our differences and play together.

As gamers, we should not be divided and fight over which platform is the best. Instead, we should unite over our love for video games, expand our horizons, and try to play as many games as possible be it on PlayStation, PC, or Xbox.
