CD Projekt RED has revealed during a social media post regarding the status of its ongoing projects that 447 developers are currently working on The Witcher IV.
In addition, 135 employees are currently working on the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel, while shared services is currently keeping 162 staff members busy.
The Witcher IV was fully announced during The Game Awards 2024 in the form of a cinematic trailer, and CDPR has revealed that the highly anticipated sequel won’t be released until after 2026. Earlier this month, the team took on Karel Kolmann, previously of Warhorse Studios, as new senior quest designer for The Witcher IV.

Unlike the previous entries in The Witcher franchise, this latest instalment will feature Ciri as the main protagonist, replacing Geralt of Rivia. Back in June, Charles Tremblay, VP of Technology for CDPR, revealed that the development team are hoping to achieve 60 FPS with ray-tracing on PS5 for The Witcher IV. In addition, CDPR has also promised that The Witcher IV will deliver completely new regions to explore, as well as new creatures to battle, one of which ‘plays with your own fears.’
