CES 2009 to be more video game oriented?

The Consumer Electronics Show is usually about expensive laptops, high-priced navigation systems and huge televisions, right? According to Kumu Puri, a senior executive with Accenture Ltd’s consumer technology practice, CES 2009 is going to be more about the industries displaying strength than it is about the expensive side of life. In case you were wondering, the industries showing off strength include mobile devices and video games.

Does this mean you can expect and abundance of news out of CES this year? We think so. Not only will heavy hitting companies like Sony be in attendance, but larger developers and publishers such as Capcom plan on revealing Resident Evil 5, Street Fighter IV and Dark Void in a brighter light than past events.

If this happens to ring true and the event does shower our industry with a ton of great news, expect PSU to bring you coverage not only on the web, but on location at CES 2009 as well. We’ll be getting hands-on time with a slew of titles you should all have interest in, including the three mentioned above.

The Consumer Electronics Show is set to kick off on January 8 and runs through January 11, so be sure to check back in with us for all the latest from the event.
