Return to Silent Hill has received its first teaser trailer ahead of the film’s release in January 2026, and it’s…well, interesting I guess is how you could describe it. Despite being based on a video game series that thrives on atmosphere, the trailer features a lot of fast cutting and doesn’t really give you time to appreciate the source material it’s based on.
Still, it’s only a teaser trailer at this point, and for fans there are at least some notable highlights including a brief glimpse at James Sunderland (Jeremy Irvine) and the iconic Pyramid Head. We also see what is presumably the Lakeview Hotel on fire, as well as James running through a blazing corridor.

Return to Silent Hill is set for release on January 23, 2026 in cinemas and is directed by Christophe Gans, who helmed the original 2006 flick. The movie stars Jeremy Irvine as James Sunderland, who, having been separated from his one true love, Mary, travels to Silent Hill after receiving a mysterious letter calling him back to the foggy town. Much like the game, Jame finds Silent Hill inhabited by grotesque creatures as he battles to survive while uncovering the mystery of what happened to the town as he attempts to find Mary.
