Guillaume Broche, the director on the critically acclaimed Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, has revealed during an interview with MrMattPlays that the game is ‘not the end’ of the franchise.
Speaking in regards to what developer Sandfall Interactive has next up its creative sleeves, Broche replied that Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is simply “one of the stories” that they want to tell in the series, opening the door to more instalments down the line.
Clair Obscur is the franchise name. Expedition 33 is one of the stories that we want to tell in this franchise. Exactly what it will look like and what the concept will be is still too soon to announce, but what is sure is that this is not the end of the Clair Obscur franchise.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 takes place in a world inspired by Belle Époque France, and sees players embarking on a quest to destroy the Paintress, who is slowly erasing people by painting her monolith using a cursed number. She’s now at ’33,’ thus kicking off Expedition 33.
