Classic PSOne ‘Anti-RPG’ Moon Is Heading To PS4 & PS5

Developer Onion Games has announced that Moon, the classic 1997 PSOne RPG, is heading to PS4 and PS5.

Moon was also released for the Nintendo Switch in October 2019 in Japan and came to the US and UK in August the following year.

Billed as an anti-RPG, Moon looks at the classic genre from a different perspective. For example, all that looting that RPG heroes do from homes and villages? That’s stealing, don’t you know! Or how about all those creatures you battle against? Well, that could be seen as indiscriminate killing.

As such, Moon doesn’t have traditional RPG battles; instead, you encounter the souls of vanquished creatures, which in this game are just innocent animals. If you can catch their souls, then you can save them. Elsewhere, the game gives its NPCs their own routine depending on the time of day, giving you more insight into how these background characters function.

Moon is a game about levelling up by loving, not fighting, according to the blurb. Sounds different, if nothing else!

Moon has yet to attract a release date on PS4 and PS5.
