Clive Barker On Hellraiser: Revival: ‘I’m Proud As F**k At The End Result’

Hellraiser mastermind Clive Barker has revealed during an interview with Dread Central that he’s “proud as f**k” with the recently-launched Hellraiser: Revival, despite initial concerns about censorship given its commitment to the source material.

“I was fearful at one point that the game would be overly censored, but I’m genuinely astonished by how far they’ve been able to push it,” said Barker, who worked closely with Saber Interactive to help craft the story and game world. “I think what was achieved in the game is a wake-up call to anyone who’s been involved in the making of a franchise like Hellraiser.”

Barker also seemed to confirm that he won’t be stopping at Hellraiser: Revival in regards to collaborating with Saber Interactive, though in what capacity remains to be seen. “I’m looking forward to working with them again on some other projects,” he said.

Featuring a new story within the classic horror franchise, Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival features Doug Bradley as the voice behind the iconic Pinhead, as you unwittingly kick off a ritual to unleash the ultimate torment on the world. Players will harness the unique powers of the Genesis Configuration — including pyrokinesis, telekinesis, and the Hell Chains — to dish out bone-breaking, flesh-searing attacks against your foes, with the device also proving valuable in solving intricate puzzles and transforming parts of the labyrinth.
