Square Enix has confirmed that globe-straddling Final Fantasy VII antagonists Cloud Strife and Sephiroth will be playable in the fan-friendly butt-kicker Dissidia: Final Fantasy. The news comes to us care of Japanese magazine Shonen Jump via Gamekyo.
We’re struggling to be surprised, to be honest – the publisher would have faced no end of forum mauling had it kicked out a Final Fantasy compilation without old Blonde ‘n’ Spikey and his prematurely-grey adversary.
But even were this iconic duo to miss the boat, Dissidia: Final Fantasy would remain an enticing prospect. Slated for release on PlayStation Portable in Japan on December 18, the game lets you pit heroes and villains from Final Fantasies past against one another in 3D arena combat.
