Today’s Annapurna Interactive Showcase 2025 had a number of reveals from games we already knew to expect, but it also had a few surprise announcements. Perhaps one of the bigger surprises, was that Geometric Interactive, the team behind 2023’s excellent puzzle game Cocoon, is already working on its next game.
Annapurna Interactive is partnering with Geometric Interactive again to publish the game, and that’s all we know about it so far.
During the section of the showcase focused on Geometric Interactive, audio director and composer for Cocoon, Jakob Schmid, spoke on the collector’s edition for Cocoon that it made with iam8bit, and the game’s soundtrack released on vinyl.
Schmid spoke about the challenge in developing the vinyl, because the soundtrack for Cocoon is technically different from player to player, so there are bits in the soundtrack that were newly written for the vinyl release.
It was only right at the end of the section, after talking about the soundtrack that we learned there’s a new game coming. Hopefully we’ll know more than that soon.
