Codemasters kicks off Grid 2 Rockstar Race Challenge

Grid 2, Codemaster’s recently released pseudo-simulation racing title that released late last month to critical acclaim, is already adding to its effort to bring gamers together through its in game service, RaceNet, with the announcement today of the Grid 2 Rockstar Racer Challenge.

Launched by the developer and Rockstar Energy Drink, this new challenge will permit players to put their skills to the "ultimate test". Hosted through Grid 2’s RaceNet, the challenge will be held each week for the next five weeks, providing a platform for gamers to demonstrate their talent behind the wheel against other top-notch racers.

The Rockstar Race Challenge is more than a means to inflate gamers’ online-ego, also offering a number of tangible rewards. All participants will receive a Rockstar liveried Aston Martin Vanquish for entering, and the top-ten participants can expect much more, including a $100 gift card to GameStop, a pair of sunglasses, Skullcandy headphones, T-shirts, and a year-long supply of Rockstar Energy Drink.

Codemasters has emphasized its intentions to consistently bring its racing community together, and so it is likely that the Rockstar Race Challenge is only the first of many contests and tournaments. Stay tuned at PSU.com, and on Twitter @PSUdotcom, for all the latest on Grid 2.
