Compulsion Games Is Now Independent From Xbox And Is Looking For Collaboration Opportunities

Compulsion Games has revealed in a post on its LinkedIn account that it’s “expanding opportunities to collaborate with studios across the games and entertainment industry.”

The studio, which recently separated from Xbox to go independent after the company laid off 3,200 staff as part of a major restructuring, stated it is looking for partners to “leverage the talent and creativity of the award-winning team behind South of Midnight.”

With deep experience in creating acclaimed original IP, we bring our artistry, technical expertise and collaborative approach to every project. We are excited to support the development of memorable experiences that engage and entertain players around the world.

Compulsion Games will retain full control of its IPs as a result of going independent, as is the case for Double Fine Productions, which also split from Xbox. Ninja Theory and Undead Labs were also impacted by the restructuring at Xbox, but instead of going independent were sold off to as-yet unconfirmed buyers.
