Many websites reported a Tweet by the official Irish branch of PlayStation that had responded to a fan querying about the game’s exclusive status by saying ”this will be PS4 exclusive.”

Crash’s PS4 exclusivity was initially presumed by many considering the fact that the first three titles in the series have always been synonymous with the original PlayStation.

The Tweet has since been deleted.

Now, however, PlayStation Ireland has offered clarification on the matter by stating that ”[Crash Bandicoot] will launch on 30th June 2017. To clarify our earlier post, it will be coming to PlayStation 4 and PS4 Pro first.” The key word here is "FIRST", suggesting that it will also release on other platforms.

While it may irk some, from Activision’s perspective it makes sense to have Crash Trilogy Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch versions given the fervor surrounding its release ever since the initial reveal back at last year’s E3. For all intents and purposes, though, it looks as if Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy will be a timed-exclusive for PS4 and PS4 Pro – for how long, however, that’s anyone’s guess.

We imagine it won’t be for too long.
