The Crash Bandicoot PS4 release date could be set for this summer, according to the latest leak from Czech retailers.

The Crash Bandicoot N Sane Trilogy hasn’t officially received a launch date from Sony, though the publisher has stated it will be available on PS4 in 2017.

The new Crash Bandicoot game was initially rumoured to release in late February, but now two retailers, Kuma and SuperGamer, have listed the title for launch on June 30, 2017.

The upcoming platform adventure is being developed by Vicarious Visions with Activision in charge of the publishing. Using the Skylanders: Imagination engine, it comprises of three games in the Crash Bandicoot series:

  • Crash Bandicoot
  • Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back
  • Crash Bandicoot: Warped

All three games have previously appeared on PlayStation platforms, but for PS4 and PS4 Pro they are being rebuilt from scratch with additional art, animation and audio. In the game, players user Crash’s spinning and jumping abilities to smash crates and collect items.

New features in the N Sane Trilogy include:

  • 4K resolution
  • Manual and automatic saving
  • Time Trials
  • Unified checkpoints

If fans buy into this updated PS4 release of the Crash trilogy, then Sony boss Jim Ryan hasn’t ruled out a brand new Crash Bandicoot experience in the future.
