Criterion working on new ‘open world’ racer?

A job advertisement posted by Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit developer Criterion Games has hinted that the studio is working on an open-world racing game.

The UK-based team is currently on the lookout for an AI programmer among others, as detailed in a post on Criterion’s official Blog.

"Our current ambition requires an innovative programmer to deliver killer entertainment experiences with believable, open world AI Racing Drivers," it reads.

Meanwhile, the firm is also on the hunt for a for lead software engineer "to help create a new extension to the existing Criterion team focusing on developing on new platforms."

Outside of this, Criterion has Burnout CRASH! on the horizon, which will hit PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade later this month.
