Crysis 3 developer Crytek says it is ‘very, very happy’ about the inclusion of 8GB of GDDR5 RAM in the PlayStation 4, which was rumoured to launch with half that amount of unified memory.
Speaking via his twitter account, R&D principal graphic programmer Tiago Sousa tweeted: “8 GB unified mem as baseline for next tech iterations makes me very, very happy. Fun times coming ^_^”.
Sousa has worked on Far Cry, each version of the powerful CryENGINE and the Crysis franchise, including the most recent game Crysis 3, which launched on PS3 and Xbox on Feb 19, 2013. Crytek is currently working on Warfare for PC, while Homefront 2 is under development at its UK studio and is likely to be a PS4 title.
