For fans of Crytek and their now famous CryENGINE 2, you will all be pleasantly happy to know that Crytek plans on showing off their CryENGINE 2 at this year’s Game Developer’s Conference. The thing that makes this so special is that they’ll be showing it off on multiple platforms, one of which being the PlayStation 3 console.
This demonstration is going to be viewed by a select audience however there will be public presentations at their home booth as well. The presentations at Booth #6611 will show how the engine can be fully optimized on a cost-efficient PC that is built for roughly $600, including the mouse and keyboard. They want to demonstrate to visitors that the extremely high quality content that CryENGINE 2 provides can be obtained by the average PC owner, debunking the belief that you need a top-end PC to utilize it effectively.
Along with that demonstration, you’ll also be able to see the Sandbox 2 game editor in action creating rapid levels for use, adding incredible sound quality, working with the CryENGINE 2 to deliver solid animation quality, and it will all be lead by many of the leading developers and designers for the Crytek engine itself.
This will definitely be a hot ticket event and the demonstrations will occur twice a day. The seating is said to be on a first come, first serve basis, so make sure you show up early.
