CD Projekt RED has clarified that the single-player version of Cyberpunk 2077 – that is, the game that’s coming out this November – will not feature microtransactions of any description.
Cyberpunk 2077 Won’t Have Microtransactions For Single-Player
Taking to Twitter, the studio reiterated that the single-player portion of Cyberpunk 2077 will be microtransactions-free, although reminded folk that the multiplayer will feature them in some capacity as reported yesterday. However, it seems that some folk were confusing between both projects, assuming that both editions featured microtransactions. That is not the case.
Nothing changed. Cyberpunk 2077 is a single player game with zero microtransactions. One single purchase. No tricks. Don’t believe the clickbait.
Cyberpunk multiplayer/online, which is a separate project, will have some microtransactions, but we said that a year ago already. Like always, expect us treating your money with respect.
Cyberpunk 2077 is due for release on November 19 for PS4, PC and Xbox One, and is also coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X as a separate release in 2021. The multiplayer portion, meanwhile, is due out at some point after next year.
