Dark Passenger Formed By Ex-CDPR Devs, Working On Online Multiplayer Game Set In Feudal Japan

A number of former CD Projekt RED employees have formed a new studio, Dark Passenger, and are currently staffing up for their first project, described as an online multiplayer game set in feudal Japan.

The team was founded by Jakub Ben, Magdalena Furman, and Pawel Kuleta, with al three having worked on cinematic for the likes of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and Cyberpunk 2077. Dark Passenger’s debut project has been in pre-production for the past two years, and will also include co-op, PvE and PvP.

The proprietary locomotive system will allow players to perform amazing evolutions such as running on arrows fired by other players, dynamically climbing flat walls using shuko claws or using a yari spear as a pole to jump over obstacles.

In terms of weapons, you can expect katanas, wakizashi, kusarigama, and kunai among others. Players can also expect comprehensive customisation options, and can also develop their own Dojo to invite your mates over for a spot of training.

There’s no release date in sight yet as the game is still obviously in the very early stages of production.
