Dark Souls fans may want to pay attention to Bandai Namco Games’ Twitter tomorrow, as the publishing giant has teased ‘big news’ ahead for the brutal action-RPG franchise.
"We have some big #DarkSouls news tomorrow – stay tuned!,” the company wrote, although there’s no clue as to what exactly the news will entail.
That doesn’t stop us from speculating a little, however. As you might recall, we already know that Dark Souls III, which hits stores for PlayStation 4, PC and Xbox One next Tuesday, will be supported by two major downloadable content packs.
Namco has yet to go into much detail on these new expansion, although has promised they’ll include "new maps, bosses, enemies and additional weapon and armor sets.” Could tomorrow’s announcement pertain to the DLC? It’s certainly possible.
Other than that, it’s highly unlikely we’ll get another Dark Souls game announced. Aside from the fact the third game isn’t even out yet in the U.S. and Europe, From Software has suggested that Dark Souls III will be the final game in the series, at least for a long time yet—and that goes for a new Bloodborne, too.
